Keep custom product details when using fees
When a product fee uses Bundle with product, Shopify rebuilds the product as a bundle. Custom product details stored as line item properties can be removed unless you configure FeeBee to preserve them.
When you need this
This setting only applies to product fees using Bundle with product. You do not need it for Bundle with fees.
Configure it when a product collects details such as engraving text, an uploaded file, booking information, or a gift message. Most stores without custom product fields do not need this setting.
Find the property key
The label customers see may differ from the name Shopify stores. For example, a field labelled Gift message might use the key gift_message or _gift_message.
Check a test order or the app’s documentation. If the key is not shown, ask the app provider.
Copy the key exactly, including capitalization, spaces, and underscores. Engraving, engraving, and _engraving are different keys.
Add the keys to FeeBee
- From FeeBee, open Settings.
- Under Line Item Properties, enter each key you want to keep.
- Save the settings.
You can enter up to three keys. Leave unused fields empty.
Test the result
Place a test order with every custom field completed. Confirm that the details appear in the order and reach any app or fulfillment workflow that uses them.
