Fixed fees and percentage fees
Product fees and order fees can use a fixed or percentage amount.
Choose Fixed Amount for a set charge, such as a €0.25 bottle deposit or €3 handling fee. Choose Percentage Amount when the fee should change with the product or cart value, such as a 5% tariff or 2% service fee.
Product fee calculations
A product fee is calculated for each matching unit.

Percentage product fees use the matching product value before Shopify applies discounts.
Order fee calculations
An order fee is charged once per cart.

| Percentage amount of 2% | Cart subtotal of €100 | 2% × €100 = €2.00 |
Adding another product does not create a second order fee. A percentage order fee changes when the cart subtotal changes.
