Discount products while excluding fees from the calculation

Use Discount Ignoring Fees when a percentage discount should be calculated from product prices without including mandatory fees. This is most useful for product fees set to Bundle with product, where a normal product discount uses the combined product and fee price.

Product fees set to Bundle with fees, as well as order fees, are already left unchanged by normal product discounts.

Create the discount

1. From Shopify Admin, open Discounts.
2. Select Create discount.
3. Under FeeBee, choose Discount Ignoring Fees.

Choose Discount Ignoring Fees from the FeeBee section.

4. Choose a Discount code or Automatic discount.
5. Under Applies to, choose All products, Specific products, or Specific collections.
6. Enter the Percentage discount.
7. Add a minimum purchase amount or quantity if needed. The minimum counts only the products selected under Applies to and does not include their fees.
8. Complete Shopify’s customer eligibility, combination, and active date settings, then save the discount.

If your fees target collections

Turn on Enable support for collection-based fees if at least one FeeBee fee applies to a collection. Then select every collection used by those fees.

This setting is separate from Applies to:

• Applies to chooses which products receive the discount.
• Enable support for collection-based fees tells FeeBee which collections it must check for fees.

Update this list whenever a FeeBee fee starts or stops applying to a collection.

Test the discount

Add a product with a FeeBee fee and apply the discount in the cart. Confirm that the discount amount is based on the product price without the fee.

For example, a €10 product with a €1 fee has a combined price of €11. A 20% discount is calculated from the €10 product price, so the customer receives a €2 discount and pays €9.

If the discount has a minimum purchase requirement, also test a cart just below and just above the minimum.

Other discounts

Shopify discounts and discounts created by other apps do not automatically exclude FeeBee fees.
