Known limitations

Some purchases, conditions, and display options are controlled by Shopify or another app. The following limitations apply to FeeBee.

Purchases FeeBee does not support

  • Shopify gift card products: FeeBee does not add fees to gift card products. Customers can still use a gift card balance to pay for other products with fees.
  • Subscriptions: FeeBee does not add fees to subscription purchases or recurring orders. A one-time purchase of the same product can still receive a fee.
  • Shop app: Purchases made directly in the Shop app are not supported. Shop Pay from the Online Store is supported.

Conditions FeeBee cannot target

  • Payment method: FeeBee cannot add a fee based on PayPal, credit card, cash on delivery, or another payment method. The payment method is selected after the fee is added.
  • State, province, or postal code: FeeBee supports country-based targeting through Shopify Markets, but not smaller geographic areas.
  • Sales channel: A fee cannot be configured as Online Store only or Shopify POS only.

Apps and alternative purchase flows

Bundle apps, custom carts, and alternative purchase buttons can change how FeeBee adds or displays fees. Some setups need an additional step, while others are not supported by Shopify.

Review app compatibility and available setups

Buy with Prime does not support order fees or product fees using Bundle with fees. Use Bundle with product and test the complete purchase flow.

Cart and checkout display

  • Checkout: Shopify controls the order, layout, and styling of the checkout summary. FeeBee cannot freely change where fee details appear.
  • Cart: The theme controls how fee details appear in the cart. The total can be correct even when the cart does not show the complete fee breakdown.
