Apply fees using customer tags
FeeBee can use Shopify customer tags to decide whether a fee applies. Use this for groups such as wholesale customers, members, or accounts that should not pay a particular fee.
Choose who receives the fee
- includes: The fee applies when the customer has the tag.
- does NOT include: The fee applies when the customer does not have the tag.
Guests have no customer tags. This means includes cannot match until FeeBee can identify the customer, while does NOT include matches guests.
Entering an email at checkout can identify an existing customer and make their tags available. The fee may therefore appear or disappear after the customer enters their email or signs in.
Enter the tag exactly as it appears in Shopify. Tag matching is case sensitive, so Wholesale and wholesale are different values.
Add a customer tag condition
- Open a product fee or order fee.
- Under Conditions, select Add condition.
- Choose Customer tag.
- Select the operator and enter the Shopify customer tag.
- Save the fee.
Use more than one condition
Every condition must match before the fee applies.
For example, includes Wholesale together with does NOT include Fee exempt applies the fee only to wholesale customers who are not exempt.
If a fee is shown separately and limited by a customer tag, some themes may show a zero-value Fees line when the condition does not match.
